Kimber's Ultra Raptor II is a beautifully crafted custom gun that has real sex appeal with its matte black finish, custom scaled zebra wood grips and its unique slide serrations. The Ultra II also has a tactical wedge tritium night sights and a match grade barrel and trigger. It is an ideal concealed carry gun chambered in .45 ACP that can pack a serious punch for a 3" barreled compact 1911.
The price is a little on the steep side with a MSRP sticker of $1,248, however you are getting the Rolls Royce of 1911's and hands down one of the finest custom guns produced. If you want the best, you want a Kimber.
With an over all length of just 4.75" you shouldn't have any issues concealing it and it's short barrel length will clear your holster without a problem. I use an Uncle Mikes Side Kick inside the waistband holster to keep it close to my body, this provides the best concealability and reduces any potential bulging and the soft padding makes it comfortable for extended wearing. It would literally take a pat-down search to discover it. The use of this type of holster (or any concealed holster for that matter) does require some practice to master.
The major issue with this weapon is the disassembly requiring the use of an "L" shaped tool that is supplied with the gun. I did some quick research and purchased a replacement takedown tool from Tony at NDZ Performance. This is a must have tool for your Kimber!
