Trident Arms Glock 19 Review

This is a review of the Glock 19.  Last year I was at a competition, carrying my usual Sig P226.  A friend of mine convinced me shoot his Glock 19, and to say the least, I was quite surprised.  His of course had some work done to it such as a trigger job, extended controls and modified sights.  I was really impressed with the guns performance and the modification that he had made.  I've shot Glocks before in the past, but had never been a big fan or jumped on the proverbial "Glock Bandwagon".  After all, Iíve always been partial to my Sig.  Well maybe it was time to add another gun to my collection.  The two things that I really liked were the weight and the size; both huge advantages for a concealed carry gun.  I generally donít carry my Sig for concealed carry because it bulges.  I had been using a Khar PM9 that I picked up but was concerned at the capacity (6+1) or I should say lack thereof, but what do you expect from a subcompact.  The last thing you need happen in a gunfight is to run out of ammo!  Well thatís not an issue with the Glockís 15+1 capacity.

I stopped by my buddies shop and picked one up.  I spent just over $400.  You definitely get more bang for your buck with one of these.
I took the gun home and did my customary inspection and cleaning.  Disassembly and reassembly was a snap.  Iím still apprehensive about plastic guns, but what the heck.  Iíve heard nothing but good things about Glock and their performance.  The gun is well made and all of the engravings are sharp and even.  The upper, lower and even the barrel are serialized.

I headed off to the range and poured several hundred rounds through it.  No malfunctions and it handled every type of ammo I put through it.  Including +P and reloads.  It had typical recoil for a 9mm and was easy to shoot.  I wasnít real keen on the sights or the recessed magazine release, but can change them out later if I ever decide to use it for competition.  All -in-all Iím very satisfied with the gun.
